The Alchemy of Emotions: Being Without a Mask
One of the most common lies of the modern world is this: a good person is always calm, happy and balanced. This lie runs so deep that we have come to feel ashamed of our own feelings.
If you feel anxious, you're weak. If you get angry, you're primitive. If you're afraid, you're not enough. And so many people go through life wearing a mask of false calm.
Suppression Is Not a Solution
A suppressed feeling rarely disappears; it simply becomes invisible. Many people describe unspoken feelings settling, over time, into a tension in the body or a weight they carry. The feelings we ignore can keep steering our decisions without our noticing.
This is exactly where Boholia's view begins: no human feeling is something to forbid, be ashamed of or suppress. Every feeling is part of a person's wholeness.
The Stoics and Osho: Two Teachers Meet
The Stoics stress noticing a feeling and examining the judgement behind it. “This is anger. I see it. What thought is driving it?” That awareness keeps the feeling from sweeping you away. Stoicism works mainly on the side of the mind, with judgement and interpretation; expressing a feeling through the body isn't the focus of that tradition.
Osho's approach invites the body into the process: expressing feeling through movement, breath and sound. The dynamic meditation associated with his name is known as an intense, active practice built on this idea.
At Boholia, these two approaches meet. First recognise, then release. We don't destroy the feeling; we dance along its sharp edge, with wisdom and grace.
Being Without a Mask Is a Strength
Being honest about your feelings is not a weakness but a strength. The energy spent wearing a mask can be spent getting to know yourself instead.
The next time a difficult feeling rises in you, don't try to chase it away. Name it. Where do you feel it in your body? What does it want to say? Then let it pass through with breath, with movement, with silence.
This is the alchemy. Not turning lead into gold, but pain into wisdom.
