A Full Moon Ritual for Letting Go

The silver light that fills the sky when the moon is full lights up not only what the eyes see, but what the heart keeps hidden. The Full Moon is the moment when everything we hold is revealed in its clearest light.

In many cultures, the Full Moon has often been seen as a special night, accompanying many rituals. Different lands, different languages, and in Boholia's interpretation, one shared instinct: the Full Moon is a time for letting go.

Why Is Letting Go So Hard?

A relationship, belief, habit or piece of identity you're holding on to, however heavy, is familiar. Letting go means stepping into the unknown. And the unknown frightens most of us.

The Full Moon ritual is an invitation to meet this resistance with a symbolic act. Symbols are powerful for us: burning or burying a word you've written can be a way to express, through a physical act, your intention to let something go.

The Boholia Full Moon Ritual

What you need for this ritual is simple: a candle, a sheet of paper, a pen, and a quiet space where you can be alone for at least 20 minutes.

Letting Go Is Not Losing

One of the biggest misunderstandings is that letting go means giving up or losing. Letting go simply means no longer carrying. Your past, those memories, those lessons, all of them shaped you. They will simply no longer be carried as a weight on your back, but as the ground beneath you.

The Full Moon comes every month. And every month, you can let go of one more thing. Small, regular releases can be a sustainable path to freedom.
